minelab F1A4 mods query ..

HI TO ALL .. As you see I am new to this hobby @74Y/old HAHAaar..
My query is I have been about to Buy a F1A4 detector as I cannot afford a Better Minelab [ie] Sd2000 upwards ..

Would the Mods described for the SD2000 shown on the site be applicable to the F1A4??????????????????
I am competent at the run of mill electronics ,have good soldering skills multimeters ,frequency meter single old type [but good]scope],signal gen etc etc..

ANY help would be greatly appreciated ..

I will await further thoughts on the matter as I also do not want to buuga-up the unit..

I now have a As new F1a4 & have fitted the std type coil socket plus the Earphone socket allowing me to fit a 14'' Coilteck DD coil & it is very sensitive & seems Deep in my back yard tests very happy with it so far ,Very Quiet with my Red-clay soil ,But needs testing in mineralized ground I guess ..
Love to be able to afford to come over to WA ,but may test it out in the VIC-fields [only 8 hours away from home..

hi D/HALO,, I ckecked my socket wiring [ATTACHED]

I rang the guy who gave me the info & he assures me its correct ..

NO switch ..
THE diagram is looking into the front of the 5 pin socket [where plug is inserted] I am no good on computers LOL..not sure of numbering?,.

We need to sort this out Maybe someone can offer help to get it 100%..

MY DD works here at home But maybe not really deep ????
I am new to this Hobby But getting a the hang of how they work..
BY the way did you put the push button remote & how did you do that please ..ground balance..
