Need interference filter Mod was created by montana
Ismael, If you really want to do a mod that everyone would buy, We desperately need a mod that will cut out radar and other interference associated with our modern world. The problem is getting worse by the day over here in the U.S. Radar altimeters and weather radar on commercial and military aircraft seem to be the worst culprits. I know that an electronic whiz like yourself can come up with one. I have been told that Minelab already has a patent on one but we will have to buy another detector to get it at some time in the future. Just tell me once and for all if this can be done as a mod or add on. If something isn't done quickly our detectors will soon be worthless. Thanks.--Bob

Hi Bob, firstly welcome to the site. I did see you post this on AZO before and the reason I have never jumped in on this subject is that mostly Minelabs are right, it would be near impossible to make this an add-on. It needs to be done in the detector. Now if ML's was to give me the circuit diagrams no worries
This I don't think would happen. I would have thought though, that with a 2200 or GP (maybe the 2100), you would be able to tune out such interference? If not then either ML didn't do their homework or by tuning those particular frequencies out deafens the MD? Who knows. But if I was you I wouldn't hold my breath.

Ismael. Thanks for the reply . I certainly won't buy another detector until Minelab comes up with an answer to this problem. If they had any idea what we go through over here at times they would be making this their top priority. I know of one minelab dealer who is telling people not to buy until this problem is taken care of. The current detector is fantastic when this interference is at a minimum but at times it is unusable. I hope we have interference when Jonathan Porter comes over here after the first of the year to do a little detecting. Maybe Minelab will listen to him.---Bob
