Hi All, It's been a long time now and I have an announcement to make. Due to my health I have stopped doing the regulator mods and the GPM will only be available for a short while. I intend to keep this site going however and will shortly publish for those that wish to try any mods, the whole of ALL mods including the GPM and others DIY technical info.
Below is an article that would help any would be "modders" immensely. Originally when I started to compile the schematics my intention was to either reproduce the SD2000 with a MCU to allow changes to the settings and sell as a mod for ALL Minelab PI's or just as a kit-form for those capable of building it themselves, of course for education purposes
(this gets us around patents and copyrights
) However this became too hard and I thought with the imminent arrival of the Nemesis why bother!! I will still assist those who have the mods and continue to repair when needed. So as a new dimension opens up for us all I hope this year brings us all prosperity and a renewal of faith in the prospecting fraternity.
Disclaimer: Of course this had absolutely nothing to do with Minelab being newly acquired by Codan. Speaking of which....
For those diehard lovers of Minelab, how do like the situation that you can buy a GPX4000 from the US (giving the dealer a 10% markup profit margin from wholesale purchase price) landed in Australia AFTER GST of AUD$3600. If you don't pay GST then.... Aren't you glad that Minelab love you supporters here in ol' Australia so much that they charge you an extra AUD$2000 for the privilege of being a loyal customer for so long! I am the first to admit that I love the Minelab detectors but this REALLY pisses me off that they can treat us this way! BTW there is a poll on the right for your vote on this!!!
As always I will let you know when the Nemesis arrives which should be any tick of the clock now...
