Help with gpm diy mod on sd2100e was created by Sandstorm
Hi Ismael,
I would like to perform the gpm mod to my 2100e (navy green box) and have noticed that the two resistors that you removed on the 2000 are not in the same place in my 2100 and im not sure exactly where they are located, so i was wondering, if you have time, could you please give me a diagram or photo to point me in the right direction ?
Thank you,
Kind regards,
Martinus

Hi Martinus, the 2100 is different and the same method for performing the GPM is not possible. It is done different and unfortunately I do not have photos. However, if you look in the same places for 47K resistors you use the same method and put a 33K resistor and use a 20k pot with a resistor in parallel with it to get the pot's value to around 14K so the end result is 47K. The mod works similar but instead of increasing resistance as in the 2000 you lower the resistance to get a gain improvement as the 47K resistor is in series with the circuit. It is done this way as the feedback resistor on the op-amp in a 2100 is 1Megohm and not 100K as in the 2000. unless you can get a pot with a much higher value than 1M and do it the same as the 2000 to increase the gain but I am skeptical it would work this way. Hope this helps. If you're in Australia best to call for a better explanation.

Thanks Ismael,
I stripped the paint off all the resistors in the same area as on the 2000 and found the two 47k resistors, will soon perform the mod once the components arrive ☺
